Back in March - Room 12 (Mrs. Crow's 4th grade class) set out to fold 1000 cranes. They had read the story of Sadako Sasaki. Mrs. Crow asked me to come into her class and show them how to fold paper cranes. They were wonderful - and decided that they wanted to fold 1000 cranes as a class - to send to Japan. The only thing - was that they had to have it done before the end of the school year . . . which is this week. Well they did it (they actually reached 1000 last week) and as one of the students said, "We did it, we folded 1000 cranes, and it wasn't just a few of us - we all folded them."
I am hoping to get a picture of their cranes - and will post it if I do.
Yesterday I took treats to Mrs. Crow's students . . . of course the cupcakes had to have a paper crane on them. Way to go Room 12!
