Lovely Paper

 Folding . . . folding . . . folding . . .
That seems to be the easy part.
I have quite a few cranes ready and waiting . . . I just need the opportunity to get them placed.
I wanted to post this picture - for no other reason than I love the paper and all the colors.  I love finding the beauty and joy in simple things.
My son told me the other night that he used to leave origami cranes in random places - and write quotes on them.  He was going through a very hard time when he did that - and I think some of the places he left them were places that I probably would not like to think of him being.  He said he always tried to write something positive.  He also commented that he likes that I am doing this project.  I believe my other son thinks I have lost my mind.  : )

Be Kind to One Another

So there have been 14 cranes dropped.  My project is underway.  No comments yet - but some page views.  Ok . . . I'm silly and needy - but I need a comment.  : )
I think one of the reasons why a project like this fascinates me and why I chose to do it - is that it fascinates me how our paths cross and our lives intertwine (even if for a moment).  We may not always notice people who we cross paths with each day - or stop and think that after we leave a table after enjoying dinner with our family - that another person sits down at the same table.  What was their day like?  What is going on in their life?
Our lives can get so busy that some days it takes all we have just to get through the day with what we have going on - So we may forget there is a world of people out there.  So take the time to smile, be polite, treat people with respect.  Remember that if someone is short with us or even rude - that maybe they have something going on in their life that is more than they can handle at the moment.  Don't take it personal and react in a negative way - let it go.
If we have the opportunity to be kind to someone - take advantage of that opportunity.  If someone is kind to us - pay it forward.

My 1000 Origami Cranes

I have already folded 1000 - paper cranes.  For whatever reason - I find folding them to be very relaxing - I refer to this as my origami therapy.
I have started stringing them all together.  It doesn't take quite as long as folding them - but it does take some time.  I will post a photo of them all together when I am finished - but it will take a little while for me to get them done.  I wish I had time just to devote to the things I like and want to do - but I also have to go to work, and clean my house, and keep appointments.  So I find time to play when I can - and I will eventually get them all strung . . . and another 1000 folded.
This is #1000 . . . so let the folding continue.  I have decided to fold another 1000 cranes and start this project online not only for the "Origami Therapy" - but just to see if I can get some responses and to see if some of my cranes can travel a little.  For those of you that fine them - please pass them along, send me a comment, be creative - have fun with this project.
